Don’t let the headlines go quiet
When a high-profile threat against a national leader occurs, the media springs to action. But what about the 126 mass shootings that have already devastated our country since January 1, 2026? Today, these tragedies often receive only a few hours of local coverage before fading away.
We cannot afford to become numb to this epidemic—nor to the AR-15 style weapons that make these shootings so lethal.
The Highland Park Peace Project (HP3) offers a tangible way to break this cycle through Procurement Activism. Using our Scorecard database, we provide the market intelligence you need to hold “gun-profiteers” accountable.
Our Scorecard identifies two types of business organizations in this economy:
- Heroes: Brave companies and retailers taking a stand against gun makers.
- Enablers: The lenders, law firms, shippers, retailers, credit card companies and manufacturers providing the “oxygen” that keep the top five AR-15 manufacturers in business.
It’s time to “Have the Talk.”
If you are a business owner or employee and discover your service provider or supplier is an Enabler, speak up. Contact your representative at that firm. Let them know that thanks to the transparency of the HP3 Scorecard, you now realize they are part of the assault weapon problem. Tell them you will be weighing their future relationship with your company in a new light.
If you work at a firm that has been flagged as an Enabler, talk to your CEO or manager. Express your concern that being an Enabler is a business liability. With 75% of Americans wanting AR-15s off our streets, no firm wants to lose a major client to a competitor because of their ties to the gun industry.
We don’t want to live this way—and we don’t have to. The momentum is growing as people realize that their everyday purchasing decisions can affect real change.
Join us in making real change possible.
Please visit our Scorecard linked below and shop with companies that prioritize people over profiteering from assault weapons. Together, we can indeed be a force for change by transforming individual purchasing decisions into a collective value-driven movement.
